Robert DuBoise was 18 years old when he was arrested in October 1983 for the rape and beating death of 19-year-old Barbara Grams, who was found behind a dental office in Tampa on August 19, 1983, as she walked home from her job at a shopping-mall restaurant. He was convicted in 1985 on the strength of bite-mark testimony from forensic odontologist Dr. Richard Souviron and the word of a jailhouse informant, Claude Butler, and was sentenced to death after the trial judge overrode the jury's recommendation of life. He spent nearly 37 years in prison, including about three years on death row, before DNA testing on rape-kit slides long believed destroyed excluded him and he was exonerated on September 14, 2020.

A single, coerced eyewitness identification put Richard Barge away for a 2010 murder conviction in Camden County, NJ. That witness has since recanted multiple times, saying he never actually saw the shooter's face and that police coerced his identification. The jailhouse informants who testified against Barge have also recanted or contradicted themselves. New evidence points to two other named suspects, and the murder weapon was used in a separate crime committed after Barge was already incarcerated -- evidence the prosecution disclosed late and never properly investigated. New Jersey's Conviction Review Unit has reportedly recommended Mr. Barge's exoneration. The case now awaits action from the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.

Lamar (Lance) Alford was convicted in a March 2007 Camden County jury trial for the May 22, 2005 shooting death of Salvador "Alex" Martinez in East Camden, New Jersey, and sentenced to life plus ten years. No physical, forensic, or weapons evidence linked him to the crime; the State's case rested entirely on eyewitness identifications obtained through single-photo showups and testimony from witnesses with undisclosed incentives. He remains incarcerated at New Jersey State Prison after more than 19 years.

Daniel Locus was convicted of the June 2008 murder of Anthony Ball in Camden County, NJ. He was on a live phone call with a friend, blocks away, when the shooting happened -- audibly reacting to the gunshot in real time, before anyone else knew what had occurred. No murder weapon was recovered and no physical evidence ties him to the scene. Multiple witnesses have identified a different man, known as "Pooh Bear," as the actual shooter, and the state's own witnesses have since been shown to have falsely denied receiving benefits for their testimony.

Manfred Younger was convicted on May 20, 2011 of the June 17, 2007 shooting behind the Seventh & Kaighns Bar in Camden, New Jersey, which killed Tierra Pressley and seriously injured Adrien Jackson, and was sentenced to seventy-eight years in prison. The State's case rested on Jackson's identification, a recanted courtroom show-up identification by Tia Hannah, and two jailhouse informants who received undisclosed benefits and testified falsely about them. His co-defendant, Anthony Parker, was acquitted of all charges by the same jury, and post-conviction evidence now includes eyewitness statements, recantations, and proof of Brady, Giglio, and Napue violations.
